From the MUMC Board of Trustees
With any successful program, the attendance is bound to increase and Matthews UMC Youth is no exception. The Trustees want to make aware to the parents, and teen drivers, of the potential conflict involving pedestrian-vehicular conflicts. Parents and teen drivers:
Please obey traffic directions and flow patterns in the parking areas
Specifically park only in marked spaces
Drive slowly through the parking lot
Please do not park or wait in the “no parking” areas, fire lanes or the drive lanes (especially by the gym/dining hall side of the church)
There have been instances of near misses when youth are leaving the building and crossing the parking lot. Please be mindful of the pedestrians. We, as much as you, do not want any incidents to occur in conjunction with your program. This is the only way we can ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all. Thanks so much!
The role of Parent Partners is to give input, feedback and support for our youth ministries staff. It is made up of adults representing each grade level as well as adults who organize different areas of our ministry such as our Sunday night cafe', recreation, etc.
