Serving in mission is an ongoing priority in the youth ministry at MUMC.

We provide numerous opportunities for young people to serve, ranging from day projects to weeklong mission trips.

 One day a year we send youth throughout the Charlotte area communities to serve as the Hands of Christ. This is a fund-raiser as well for our mission work throughout the year. ALL youth participating in REACH or the Senior High Mission Trip are required to do this.

 The 7th Grade R.O.C.S. (Reaching Others for Christ by Serving) is our inner-city mission experience for seventh graders. By staying in town and working with various agencies in the Charlotte-Metro area, seventh graders are introduced to doing mission work in an exciting and fun way. We hope all seventh graders will participate in this weekend-long mission experience, May 4-6, 2012!

REACH WORKCAMP (8th & 9th Grade)

 The REACH mission trip is a weeklong summer workcamp where 8th and 9th graders show Christ's love through building relationships and serving others. Each year we go to a unique location somewhere in the country to do home repair projects for those in impoverished communities. Come enjoy this incredible experience!This year's dates: 1 week during this time--June 17-23, 2012!

SR. HIGH MISSION TRIP (10th-12th Grade)

 This trip is a weeklong, inner-city mission experience where older youth have opportunities to serve the homeless, lead outreach in neighborhoods, support ministries in communities, etc. Each year, this trip visits a different city to reach out to others. 10th-12th graders are challenged to experience and learn about a culture that is different from their own. Come and be a part of this trip--1 week during this time: June 23-30, 2012!

 Rainbow Express is a weeklong day camp sponsored each summer by Matthews UMC Youth Ministries. It is a camp that serves children and youth with special needs and provides support for their families. This is a special week full of energy, fun and joy as we embrace all of God's children.
