Matthews UMC is known in this area for its friendliness, faithfulness and service to the community. Our church family exists to introduce people to the person of Jesus Christ, help one another grow in this relationship with Christ and serve God and neighbor by relieving suffering in the world. The entire life of Jesus was a “cross walk.” Every step he took led him toward the cross where he gave himself for us. Each week during the season of Lent we’ll join Jesus on his “cross walk,” learning from him how we live faithfully and fully in a time of challenge.
We are honored to have one of MUMC’s fine artists paint a picture each week based on the scripture of the day.On Easter those paintings will be put together to reveal a larger mural of hope and promise for all of us to enjoy.
